Craven Gardens Hotel

Our room had been newly decorated and was fine but our friends stayed one night on the floor above and their room was scruffy. The 2 Ukrainian girls who did the breakfasts and also the rooms were very good. But the breakfast plates were always cold and there were no side plates for toast. The lift broke down during the last two days of our 7 night stay. All the reception staff were polite and helpful. I prefer the Blakemore Hotel but it was full when I booked.

Never Again

I hadn't realised this is a backpackers' hotel. Grumpy unfriendly breakfast staff and a room in which we could not swing a cat..a lift so slow it was quicker to use the stairs...shower so slow it took an age to wet your hair. In short absolutely terrible. We are unlikely to use a "Best " Western ever again.

breakfast good but did not like the pop music videos on in reception - too loud in the evening and on at breakfast as well

Not bad but not great

The room was good value for the money spent, but the shower had poor pressure and wouldn't stay at constant temp. Unfortunately for us we went at a time where the lift wasn't working and we were on the 4th floor (in 32 degrees!). The hotel had a goup staying who took up all the luggage space meaning we had to store our bags for much more cost at a station because they couldn't accomodate us even after being told they could when we arrived. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were helpful. Thank you for the discount booking even if the attendant didnt know or understand the voucher and attempted to charge us twice(!) for the room.
