We chose the hotel because it was near to the Globe Theatre but from the moment we entered the small reception area, passing the pub entrance on the way we knew that we were lucky. Our greeting was polite and helpful, a check was made to see when our room would be ready and we were told that whatever help we needed during our stay would be given. Our room was well equipped and spotlessly clean and even the cleaners were polite and did not run away or intrude. Forget views. The hotel is within walking distance of so many attractions that it is bound to be surrounded by buildings, My husband chose the full English breakfast and apart from cold bacon was the best he had ever eaten being served by attentive, smiling and efficient staff. We have never had such value for money. It was also wonderful for my husband to return after a long hot walk and have a pint at pub prices served in a bar full of friendly people. It really is a little gem.
Room good, food so so
Very comfortable room, nice bar-food and well-kept Fullers Real Ales. Badly let down by breakfast. Nearly a half hour wait for a boil-in-the-bag kipper which would have cost £9 if it hadn\'t been included in the room price. I certainly wouldn\'t have paid it.
Clean, comfortable and very convenient for everything on the South Bank.Breakfast was good and we enjoyed dinner in the pub.Helpful staff. Only complaint, the TV needs bringing into the 21st century - no digital channels and very poor reception.
I am a frequent visitor to the Mad hatter Hotel and am always delighted with my stay.
Excellent service and rooms a well run hotel just right for my visits to London
Well placed hotel, easy to find on arrival.
Welcoming and helpful staff, interested in our plans for the day. They remembered and asked about it next day, genuinely interested.
I enjoyed a comfortable room for one night and the breakfast was good. Unfortunately, the choice of channels on the TV was limited as BBC1 and Channel 5 were not available at all. Lack of time did not allow me to sample the cooked breakfast but there was a good choice of cereals and preserves, and staff were attentive.
This hotel really gives value for money with rooms serviced daily, great food and bar on site. The only thing that was missing was a locality/tourist guide with attractions and other must see and do things for those who might have never experienced London before. However, the hotel is a central stop within walking distance to most of London\'s tourist hotspots.
Hotel was reasonably priced and very conveniently located adjacent the centre and other attractions in the City.
nice polite staff.
room clean and neatly furnished
another pleasant stay
Our stay at the Mad Hatter Hotel was great. We were allocated a lovely room which was spotlessly clean. With friendly and helpful reception staff this hotel is perfectly located for all the top sites. We will always use this hotel when we visit London and we have already started to recommend the Mad Hatter Hotel to family, friends and work colleagues.
Ideal location for anyone needing to access a train station, Blackfriars just accross the bridge or Waterloo/Waterloo East just a 3 minute taxi ride (yes we were lazy and didnt walk it!)
Hotel is good, very good size room with nice bathroom. Fried breakfast in the morning was good too!
Good place to stay, near bus, underground, and train service. Pub downstairs was convenient, not rowdey or noisy.
Very good location for the london marathon both for access to staions and closeness to the finish. The room was clean with satisfactory resources. The main strength of this hotel were the very friendly and helpful staff. I found the good luck card for the marathon a nice gesture as well as a marathon morning breakfast food \'goody\' bag. Enjoyed my stay.
Nice hotel - restaurant/bar too smokey. reception staff not really well trained
Our primary reason for staying at the Mad Hatter was because we needed to get to Waterloo station early on a Sunday morning. However, it was clean, tidy and welcoming. The staff were friendly and it was enjoyable. The only thing that bothered us was that the cold water often ran warm! How strange!
...not great either. I would say that the Mad Hatter Hotel is perfectly adequate if you\'re looking for a place within walking distance of Waterloo Station that\'s not a total flophouse. I stayed there overnight because I was just coming in from Los Angeles and had a 6 am train the next morning. Needed a decent, clean place to sleep that didn\'t cost a fortune. The Mad Hatter is indeed that, but not much else. I can\'t imagine why anyone would chose to stay there if they didn\'t have to.
The hotel hasn\'t been open that long, but the stay there was great, and the staff was wonderful. Very helpful.
