  The Times London Film Festival is presented annually by the British Film Institute. It is the largest public film event in Europe, screening 280 films from 60 countries. The Trafalgar Great River Race 2008 |

  The Great River Race has firmly established itself after 18 years in the sporting calendar to such an extent that experienced crews now describe it as a classic event - the one they all want to win. This year's race is on 13th Septemer.
Starting off at Richmond, the race will go down towards the east of the River Thames towards Greenwich where it will finish. The winners will receive the coveted Challenge Trophy of The Company of Watermen & Lightermen of The River Thames and become the 2008 UK Traditional Boat Champions. In addition they will be presented with the exclusive one-off Trafalgar Great River Race Trophy.

Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree |
  Landmark Christmas event in London. This year the 62nd Christmas tree comes to London from the city of Olslo as a token of friendship and gratitude for Britain’s assistance during World War II. The tree will be decorated in traditional Norwegian style.
The lighting of the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree includes a programme of festive events, some of which are ongoing until Christmas Day, including carol singing and more. After the lighting ceremony, the tree lights will be turned on from noon until midnight each day throughout the Christmas season.
The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree will be lit on Thursday 4th December 2008 at 6pm, the tree will remain at Trafalgar Square until 2nd January 2009.

Trooping Of The Colour |

  The Trooping of the Colour’s parade is held on the occasion of the Queen’s official birthday and takes place in June each year. The parade is carried out by the Queen’s personal troops, over 1400 officers and men are on parade together with two hundred horses. The custom of the Trooping of the Colour dates back to the 17th century and the time of Charles II.
