An efficiently run hotel - friendly and helpful staff. Room and bathroom recently refurbished and masses of hot water for bath and shower. Room somewhat compact but for price and central London this is acceptable. Breakfast a bit of a problem - our order was forgotten I think due to language problems - our waitress did not speak very good English. Overall I can recommend this hotel highly.
Unfortunately our stay at the Pheonix was terrible. Room in the basement, smoking room, heating did not work...As we had a pleasent stay 5 years ago, we were surprised to recieve such a bad service.
Always good value, friendly staff, only 1 minute from tube.
The hotel is very comfortable and gives a homely feeling. Every member of the staff is helpful and polite and I would surely recommend people to stay here. The location is also great for the value of the stay.
This hotel is good location and convenient. Staffs are kindness. The room was a little bit small but comfortable. But when I walked in the room, the ground had a noise.
a very pleasant stay in a single room that seemed much bigger than it was. an en-suite with a bath as well as shower with large towels. the room overlooked a lovely square full of trees, which was very pleasant and quiet at night ( get a room on the 4th floor and you will be looking higher up) pleasant staff. breakfast non-descript, no fresh fruit etc hence the 4 rating.
Convenient,comfortable&friendly
Small single room, good quality, well laid out. Free wi-fi internet. Good public facilities.
very calm, nice garden, beautiful surroundings, variety of architecture and gardens, close to all sorts of cultural activities interesting to us.
good and healthy breakfast. we enjoyed our stay.
The location and the breakfast was good. So were the beds when you stay in them. A man of my age have to visit the toilet at nights, and I do not like waking up my wife due to squeesing in the flor when I cross it. I have maintained sufficient old houses in my life (my private home was built in 1852) to recognise bad craftmanship when I experience it.
The floors should be redone, and with modern windows of the standard used in Norway you could save a lot of energy.
Until improvement is finished prices shuld be lowered.
I had their single room and while it was very small, it was well designed and I was very much comfortable. Pleasant staff and clientele No screaming kids and I enjoyed buffe breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere.
Room 114 too small
