One of London's largest parks in London covering an area of 472 acres, Regent's Park is a great place for sports and other activities from tennis and jogging to rounders and football! The park has it's very own open air theatre and some of Shakespeare's best loved comedies are performed here during the balmy summer months. Another major attraction in Regent's Park is London Zoo which is one of the finest zoos in Europe and is visited by millions of people each year. The zoo offers a back to nature experience and has a large number of amazing species, in fact over 600 different animals including lions, tigers, monkeys, fish, spiders and much more. Like certain other royal parks, Regent's Park was aquired by Henry VIII as a hunting ground. Regent's Park has a large lake and a canal leading to Camden Town and it's market. During the summer the park offers a variety of lunchtime and evening concerts and puppet shows and deckchairs are available for those who want to relax in the sun or picnic with the family.
