Shepherd's Bush is so called as the central park in the centre of this area was, in former times, used to graze cattle. This was in the days when the city of London ended at Piccadilly. Nowadays Shepherd's Bush is deemed to be on the relative outskirts of central London and is only six underground stops from Oxford Circus. There are a wide diversity of ethnic restaurants in Shepherd's Bush, a multiscreen cinema complex and a newly constructed shopping centre. Shepherd's Bush is also home the BBC and to the local first division football team, Queens Park Rangers.
