Located on the north side of the River Thames in the south west area of central London is Victoria, names after Queen Victoria, Britain's longest reigning monarch who was on the throne for sixty years until her death at the very start of the 20th century. Victoria has many offices and businesses and is home to Victoria mainline station which brings commuters to London from the home counties of Kent and Sussex. Also to be found here is Victoria Coach station, from where coaches depart to all corners of Britain - a very cost effective way of exploring England, Scotland and Wales! At the eastern end of Victoria is Buckingham Palace and the Royal Mews and in Victoria Street is the famous police HQ, Scotland Yard. Neighbouring Belgravia is home to many diplomatic missions and embassies and has some of the most luxurious streets in London such as Eaton Place.
