The London Eye, also called the Millennium Wheel as it has been constructed as an entry for a millennium landmark competition, took six years and the expertise of hundreds of people from five European countries to turn it into a reality.
The wheel carries 32 sealed and air conditioned passenger capsules, it rotates at a rate of about 0.9 km/h, it can carry over 15,000 passengers a day and flies 135 metres above the London skyline.
The British Prime Minister Tony Blair opened the London Eye on Decemeber 31, 1999 but the wheel was not opened to the public until March 2000.
London Discount Hotel offers a wide range of three, four and five star hotels, which are in 2km distance to London's famous tourist attraction.
