This is a typical London low-budget hotel. The pillows are hard and flat, bed is lumpy, and my no-smoking room smelled like an incinerator. Hairdryer is the kind where you have to keep holding the button down, and get only a thin trickle of air coming out. You can get better for the price.
1. My check out was one day before respect my reservation (I had to travel to Paris one day before). The Central Park Hotel Could used the room. Is it possible a refund for that day?
2. The TV cahnnels were very poor. Only 4 or 5 possibilities.
Good points:
- Nice location (Tube 200 yards)
- Friendly staff
- Elegant and clean bathroom with tub
- Fridge in the room (although not working very well)
Not-so-good points:
- Very small room
- The heating could not be turned off, this made it necessary to open the window at all times. Noisy and hard to get a comfortable sleeping temperature.
- Only one (big) blanket for double bed is a bit cheap.
- The continental breakfast gets quite boring after 3 days. Only full-fat milk. The £5 extra charge for one plate of english breakfast (no refills) is a bit steep
Booking through this site was pleasant and very straightforward. I based my choice on the reviews available and they proved right. Nobody complained about this hotel. The room was small, but provided what we needed. Staff was friendly, although some only spoke spanish. Continental breakfast is free, English breakfast 5 pounds extra. I found it worth it. The room layout was a bit af a failure as the TV was placed sideways from the bed. I contemplated rearranging the furniture, but since we only stayed one night... The only real downside: they need to install double gazing... this is 2008 after all and carbonfootprints are important. Apart from that there was quite a bit of a draught from the windows. The heavy curtains made up for that however. The street is quiet and the room is likewise. So we had a good night. All in all we paid 64£ for room 227 on 18/03/08, and I found it worth it. Recommendable at this price. Thanks London Discount Hotel, your site and service was a great help.
Was pleasantly surprised by the Central Park. Had read a lot of poor reviews and can only assume that it has had a makeover. It was clean, smart, staff were pleasant. Single room was small but not tiny. It had teamaking facilities and hair dryer. What more can a girl want? Breakfast was fine and no queuing. Will stay there again.
Well placed for an overnight stop visting London. Between the hotel and the locality there was plenty of choice of where to eat.
Central Park Hotel is an amazing location for everywhere you want to go in London!!! Couple of minutes walkt oOxford street and less than 10 minutes on tube to get to anyof the many attractions in London!!! Hotel was clean nice staff, good rooms would stay there again definitely!!!
Excellent hotel, only complaint would be the fact that we had two tea bags, two sachets of coffee but only two portions of milk. Apart from that, wonderful. Thank you
ROOM CLEAN AND FAIRLY SATISFACTORY BUT NOT ENOUGH ROOM. BATHROOM TINY. ADEQUATE ENOUGH FOR SHORT STAY BUT WOULD NOT BE COMFORTABLE FOR ANYTHING LONGER THAN 2 NIGHT STAY!! VALUE FOR MONEY POOR ESPECIALLY IF PAYING FULL RATE OF £180 PER NIGHT REALLY NOT WORTH THAT!!
Hotel situated in a very quiet area, but handy for Queensway Tube Station. Rooms are a bit on the small side but very clean and comfortable. The £5 charge for a full English breakfast is excellent value for money. The only downside was that the bar area is very bare, could do with some nice big leafy green plants, and maybe some pictures to make it more comfortable. Would use again.
The hotel is well placed for me - I travel into Paddinton, and meet up with a frirnd who stays in Park Lane. The Caesar was clean and the staff were friendly.
The hotel was ok, it may have been more expensive than usual the weekend we were there due to FA Cup and Heineken Cup finals being on in London.
The hotel was clean although there was a constant leak in the ceiling in our friends room from maybe a shower upstairs. He reported it but nothing was done about it.
Really only the bad thing about the hotel was the fact that we were led to believe that breakfast was included in the price but when we turned up on the first morning we were told that only the continental breakfast was free and we would have to pay £5 each for the english breakfast which turned out to be horrible! This fact wasn\'t even pointed out to us when we were checking in.
Also, and it\'s only a small thing, but for some reason the bath/shower in our ensuite was really slippery and on our second morning there I actually fell and hit my head really hard.
Apart from that it was fine, it\'s very close to the tube station and the bar staff were nice.
Reception & dining room staff very good. Accommodation good but a little on the cramped side for a double room. Location excellent with a choice of 3 tube stations on different lines all within a 5 minute walk. I would recommend to a friend.
The hotel was entirely suitable for our needs. The only problem was the cockroaches! We picked up several off the floor and I discovered one in my suitcase when I returned home.
My room was in the basement and it had no wondow
so I didn't have the chance to get some fresh
air in the room. I would never book this hotel again!
Anyone wanting a nap during the day (e.g. jet lagged!) can forget it - even excusing the construction noises, housekeepers shout at each other down the halls, bang doors to their supply cupboards and enter the room even if there is a 'Do not disturb' sign up. Other than that, it's an OK hotel, convenient, clean with a good tub but meagre breakfast, even when paying £4 extra for the English - I skipped it on day two.
Need hooks for clothing, and towels.
excellent
This hotel is getting old and worn and does not qualify as three stars
Room OK, Value for money is reasonable for LONDON circumstances. not for international comparisson.
Breakfast is not OK !! I had to pay another 4£ for "english breakfast". And than it is still NO comparisson to other international hotels abroad.
There was major refurbishment going on.
The bar and restaurant area were makeshift, there were no toilet facilities apart from in bedroom. The continental breakfast consisted of a bread roll, croissant, toast or 2 choices of cereal. Anywhere I have stayed before you get choice of meats, juices, cheeses etc. The hotel was in poor decor as well. I think it was very expensivce and will cewretainly not recommend it.
Good value and prime location for seeing sights of London. Ideal for mini breaks
1. Lobby is smaller than the pictures on website
2. Bed room & Bathing room is very small
This was a very clean and well organised hotel. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean and well maintained.
I did however feel the staff could have been a little more friendly and helpful.
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH SIZE OF ROOM. FAR TOO CRAMPED. FOUND STAFF TO BE UNHELPFUL AND UNWELCOMING CAUSING AN UNPLEASANT ATMOSPHERE.
The accomodation in hotel room was as expected, but the quality of the food at breakfast was dreadful and the cleanliness in the dining areas left much to be desired. I would book again if I could have room only and eat out.
Hotel services are not as responsive as other 3 stars hotel amongst Europe
Hi. We are very pleased with our stay at your hotell.
Nice people, clean room. We would love to come back one day.
Since I am quite tall I asked for a big bed and I was given a free upgrade to a double room. Very nice.
Excellent location, good value
