London Marathon 23rd April 2006

The 26.2 miles London Marathon takes place every spring. The Marathon starts at Greenwich and finishes in Green Park/St James�s Park. The London Marathon has become a national institution and every year, crowds of around � million people line the 26.2 miles, offering encouragement to the runners. London Planetarium

We all know that Space is the Final Frontier. Olympics 2012

On July 6th 2005, the International Olympic Committee had announced the 2012 Olympic Games will be held in London. Rollerstroll in Hyde Park

The biggest of London�s mass skating events takes place every Sunday between 2 pm and 4 pm on the east side of the Serpentine in Hyde Park. This is a big skating event open to anyone who can stop at a downhill! It is a great way to see the city and get some exercise. Style and Splendour- Victoria and Albert Museum: 2 February 2005- 8 January 2006. This exhibition features 52 ensembles and 60 accessories from the wardrobe of Queen Maud of Norway. The collection spans over the years from her marriage in 1896 to her death in 1938. The collection is on loan from the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo Norway. The nearest station is South Kensington which can be accessed by tube on the District, Circle and Piccadilly line and is a 15 minute ride from central London.

The Trafalgar Great River Race 2006

Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree

For over a century Trafalgar Square has been adorned with a majestic Christmas Tree, an Annual gift from the Norwegian nation. This year the lights of the tree will be switched on at a ceremony attended by the Mayor, Ken Livingstone. Carols are sung around the tree on certain evenings led by the choir of St. Martins-in-the-Fields. The lights of the tree will be turned on 1st December.

Trooping Of The Colour

The Trooping of the Colour�s parade is held on the occasion of the Queen�s official birthday and takes place in June each year. The parade is carried out by the Queen�s personal troops, over 1400 officers and men are on parade together with two hundred horses. The custom of the Trooping of the Colour dates back to the 17th century and the time of Charles II. The parade goes from Buckingham Palace along The Mall, to the Horseguards Parade and then back again.
