great location and friendly staff. clean rooms with very comfy pillows and a tasty breakfast.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful room. Will definitely stay there again next time we visit London.
Once again we were made very welcome by the helpful receptionist. This is a comfortable hotel and the location is excellent.
A fabulous hotel, value for money and superb location for all the tourist attractions. The room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was more than adequate. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this hotel to everybody.
Excellent accomodation, friendly and helpful staff, would definately consider staying at this hotel on our next visit to london.
Quiet, clean, great value for money and the most comfortable bed i have slept in for a long time. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and recommended a very good reasonable restaurant close by too. Great English breakfast was included in our price which set us up nicely for the day. Would definately stay again.
I have to say this Hotel provides comfortable clean accomodation for a reasonable price in the heart of London\'s Tourist area. I liked the arrangement with the pub below where the food although not adventurous was of very good quality and value. The breakfast service needs a little work although delays and missed details were compensated for by courteous and accommodating staff.
I\'ve been to London many times and finally have found a place where I want to go back again.
The hotel is really lovely and I have already recommended it to friends of mine.
I stayed in early September 2009.
This hotel is good for seeing the sights around Parliament. It\'s small (only 34 rooms) on several floors (1 lift from ground to the rooms - note that it avoids reception [1st floor] so perhaps not too secure).
Good view down of the street and buildings on other side of the road - not much else!
Being a Fullers Ale & Pie pub and hotel, there are a range of meals on the menu - at London prices unfortunately. Good range of beers available on tap.
Room was basic with the normal Tea/Coffee/Biscuits, TV, trouser press, minimal storage for hanging or drawers (I stayed for 3 nights and it was about the limit I could manage). Table and chair complete the working environment.
Bathroom has toilet, sink, bath/shower with toiletries (normal in the UK - not like Korea where this review is being written!). Bed comfortable - plenty of pillows and cushions.
I would stay again (and may do in October) BUT the hotel must deal with customer problems promptly. I reported a lack of adequate security in the room with the door not lockable and only half the screws on the chain in place. After 3 days, the lock had still not been fixed and I was unhappy with the laissez-faire attitude to problems that may exist in the hotel.
The hotel is CLEAN, service is PERFECT,people are so KIND and POLITE, food is EXCELENT. Room size was OK. Also GOOD SERVICE.
REALLY THANKS FOR THE NICE TIME WE HAD IN YOUR HOTEL,
WE WISH ALL THE BEST IN THE FUTURE

The Sanctuary House Hotel is small and friendly with good service and facilities, including comfy beds/bedding, good en suite with lovely toiletries, tea/coffee making with biscuits, chocolates and sparkling water, air conditioning, and TV with a good range of channels. It is above a Fuller\'s Bar where food and drink are served from lunchtime through to evening each day. This is where an adequate continental or cooked breakfast is served each morning. The hotel is in a superb position, in walking distance of Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, St. James\'s Park, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, and Victoria Station. If you want to see a Show, Billy Eliott is ten minutes walk, and others are not much further. My husband and I thorougly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel. We\'ll be back!!
Accommodation comfortable, good choice of breakfast and location ideal - 2 minutes from St James Park underground, close to Westminster and convenient for London City airport.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel enjoys an excellent location, only a few steps from Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and the underground.
The only negative points are the squeaky wooden floors and the breakfast which was too simple. But overall, amazing hotel with an even amazing location!
The night I stayed was pleasant. I refused to have £40 debited from my credit card \"in case I ordered some extras\" and it wasn\'t something I\'d come across before. Also the form I was asked to sign on booking-in showed a room rate that was considerably less than I had paid through london-discount-hotel. The room was clean with excellent linen and bedding. I\'d definitely book again.
Hotel was in excellent position, very close to Westminster, Big Ben, London Eye. Walkable to Trafalgar Square, West End, Oxford & Regent Street. The hotel was very clean, bedrooms well equipped, fluffy white towels, tea/coffee, fresh fruit. The best hotel that we have had in central London for a long time, at a good price to include continental breakfast - highly recommended.
Nice interior. Great bed in superior room. Like bathroom. £160 quite steep. Worth about £140, however considering location - couldn\'t complain.
Would appreciate discount in next hotel due to my pain-staking review....
Tah!
Sanctuary House did not have a record of the booking but accomdation was good.
I have used this hotel on 5 ocassions and have never been disappointed. It is a perfect location 1 minutes walk from St James tube. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and spotless! Staff are friendly and cheerful and the breakfast is substantial. The pub serves very good reasonably priced food.
quirky and fun hotel with best location
If you are looking for a great central hotel which is within easy walking distance of all the major attractions in London then look no further. Minutes from Big Ben, Westminster and the London Eye! Hotel was clean, and the staff efficient. Some building work opposite did mean that we got an early \'wake up call\' on Friday morning - although no work was taking place at the weekend. Access to the hotel is restricted by barriers - although the receptionist reckons this and the building work should only last another couple of weeks. Rooms compact but this did not bother us as we only visited the room to sleep at night! I would definitely use this hotel again.
The Sanctuary was closed and we were transferred to the Jolly Hotel St Ermins. I was disappointed to have to chase the transfer via phone and email and being charged a extra amount for something which was out of my control. Having said that, The Jolly Hotel was very pleasant, very helpful staff and fab decour in the lobby (which needs to be matched in the rooms).
Service appalling, room noisy...everything creaks whenever anyone moves..didn\'t book an alarm call but got one at 6.00am anyway! I\'m sure there were some plus points...but I\'d need to think a lot longer!!!
The double room was quite small and so was the shower/toilet room, but was very clean and excellent service. Many thanks
we arrived at the Sanctuary House Hotel and was greeted by friendly staff and a clean and tidy room and was allowed to use the room on the sunday after the marathon for a shower which was excellent i will stay there again in the future.
This was my 4th stay at The Sactuary hotel and as ever I was not disappointed! Staff are always helpful and polite and rooms always spotlessy clean. The location for me is perfect as I go for the marathon weekend, and there is a good atmosphere in the pub downstairs where you can get a reasonably priced and very tasty meal!
Good clean hotel,friendly staff
the location is spot on, walking distance from everything you need and any place you want to see. clean, comfortable beds with large bathrooms.i do not understand why people complain in their reviews about the smallness of the elevator!!! you\'d think they are sleeping in the elevator. it is a very good hotel i\'d stay in it again.
Rooms comfortable. Staff extremely helpful. Ideally situated for Westminster Abbey which is where we wanted to be.
