yes we all know, that London Hotels are very expensive, that\'s why we tried this hotel, which in comparison is at a good value. First the good side: Location superb, because located right next to Paddington Station on a quite square, very friendly staff, not much of a breakfast but I think one cannot ask for this to be included at bargain rate. Downside: the room, in particular the carpet and the Mini, Mini Bathroom, which were not exceptable at all. I travel a lot, but this carpet and the dirt under the bed were a show off. However, we were very lucky, we had room 403 under the roof, very quite, and good matresses. We sleep just perfect, woken by seagulls ! Other negative downside: the don\'t offer any luggage storage,so we had to take our suitcases to the left luggage at the Station and it cost 8 Pounds for each item ! Good news: they are just putting up the scaffolding outside, so maybe they we transform the inside too. !?
Sommervarmt værelse på 4. sal. der mangler en elevator og badeværelset er kun et stort kosteskab. Men ellers udmærket hotel uden larm fra trafikken.
Ideal accommodation for someone working in central London
I have stayed at the Ashley hotel when the previous owners were there. On his occasion we were assigned rooms on the top floor the accomodation was very small, on the following morning there was no hot water I rang reception and told them of the situation I was told to run the water for 10 minutes I informed them there was no water coming out of the tap. I was then directed o a communal bathroom on the same floor same situation. I then proceeded to boil the kettle in the \"room\" so I could at least shave. On notifying reception I was told that the manager, who I never saw might compensate me although I booked through yourselves. I had to foreshorten my stay because of a family health situation and left early on the second day thus missing my final night. The compensation issue was never concluded as I have said the manager was non-existant. I will therefor obviously be recommending the Ashley!! Yours Faithfully G.Hughes
I\'ve stayed at the Ashley a number of times - it was as usual, excellent.
I have now stayed several times at the Ashley Hotel and have never been disappointed. I have always found them reliable and very good value.
We enjoyed our stay at the Ashley Hotel. It was in a great central location near tube station and bus stops.
They provided a nice breakfast and had a nice area to read, watch tv and logon to the internet.
The accomodations are small but we were not there to stay inside so it was fine for us.
The only negative I have for this hotel is that the floors squeak.
I would stay here again if I was in the area.
I stayd at there only one night, so I do not have large impression on.
hope to stay in the Ashley again on our next visit to London
This was a 10 day father-daughter trip in London. The rooms are small, but adequate. The location, near Paddington is very good- nice walk to Hyde Park- lots of pubs in the area. Esay access to train station and tube station. My wife and I stayed here in June- paid a little more for a slightly bigger room. We would stay here again...
Hotel in a good area close to tube & main attractions
Clean & comfortuble rooms good staff at breakfast
only problem i was on the fourth floor not recomended
for the weak at heart
+ 2 mins from Paddington
- on 4th floor in room the size of a single bed with smelly shower cube in the corner. Breakfast doesn\'t start \'till 7.30am which was too late for me!
a clean and functional hotel little dated on decor but fine for our requirements.
i wish you could have one big enough bed intead of 2 small ones.
If you want a good value place to lay your head - look no further.
Tiny bathroom but English breakfast, Pleasant and helpful staff.
A functional hotel for the budget conscious (esp if booking online) with good value pubs in easy walking distance.
