Snug fit but fine 01/10/2013
Amazing what can be fitted into a small space. Room was very small but clean with comfortable double bed. Bathroom was the tiniest space to possibly put a shower, toilet and sink into that you can imagine but with clean towels daily and warm water. They should mount a towel ring/bar somewhere in the bathroom as there's nowhere to put towels - no counter at all - so we had to hang ours on the door handle or drape it over the shower hose. Hotel staff all very friendly - all from Slavic countries. Interesting to chat with. We arrived at 09:00 and they stored our bags for us until the 2pm check-in while we went and explored. They have a tag and receipt system for this with a storage room properly set up. Breakfast was good - continental with cereals, toast, croissants, fruit cocktail, coffee, tea, juices, etc. Breakfast room very humid - could use some ventilation. Breakfast staff very efficient. Overall a pleasant stay. The value for money rating speaks more to the ridiculous prices in London than to comparative prices within London. The rooms we've booked elseware are bigger and fancier for much less money but our room at the Sidney was relatively good when compared to much of what's available for the same price in London.

It was a proper and good stay at Sidney Hotel. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstandig an we enjoyed our days in London. So the room was a little bit small but that's normal in Londons budgethotels. I think i would have another break at Sidney Hotel.

Heat
Great location and room was very nice. Unfortunately it was so hot that sleeping was an issue despite the room fan.

Very good
The room was very clean and towels changed daily. The hotel is very well located to visit the main attractions by walking.Victoria station is very close from where you can take easily a bus or subway to almost anywhere in London. There is also a bus (24) station in front of the hotel. The only thing that we had to accomodate with was having breakfast at 7.30 am otherwise you had to stay in line in order to get a table. The hotel accomodated around 160 people and only around 80 places for breakfast. But this allowed us to start our days early and leave early to visit London :)Also breakfast meals could be improved we ate all 4 mornings the same: saussiges scrambled eggs or simple fried eggs beans fried bacon and mushrooms. Plus marmelade with butter tea/coffee orange/apple juce.

Centrally located but small rooms at London prices
The hotel was centrally placed for SW1 but our room was the smallest cupboard we've stayed in - bit of a squeeze. The full English breakfast was fine and the staff were very helpful. Good job we did not have the proverbial cat with us... would not have had room to swing it ! OK but just rather small rooms.

Good for a quick stop
Stayed here as it was close to the company Christmas Party. Requested a Double not twin room and recieved a triple. Room was adequate in size. Bathroom compact but perfectly clean. Plasma with sky in room. Fan to cool it down. Just fine for our requirements.

Unimpressed with Sidney hotel.
I am sorry to say my partner and I were not impressed at all with our stay in the Sidney Hotel. Upon arrival, we discovered we had been allocated a no smoking room, and asked for a smoking one. The staff were unhelpful to the point of ignorance and insisted they would not accomadate our request. This was not a once off, we found the staff in general to be unhelpful with any question we asked (for example tourist info). While the foyer area was clean and looked nice, the room istelf was not, the carpet was stained, furniture chipped and shoddy, sink in bathroom was slightly scummy, even the pull cord for the light in the bathroom was grimy, so bad we had to use tisues to pull on it to avoid touching it directly with our hands. As the room we were allocated was in the basement beside an empty conference room and facing out onto a tiny yard used for storage, we could not leave the windows open as the room was easily accessible via the yard (an open door from the corridor led out into this yard, so anyone could step out and climb in our window with little effort). All in all we both considered this hotel to be sub-standard, and would never consider it again for future visits to London.

sidney hotel
double bed: far too small. staff: not a single smile on arriving, said "room not ready". I had to ask if it was possible to leave my bags somewhere, i got told yes and had to wait 10 minutes, i got shown to a room and placed my bag on a shelf, the woman from the reception said "no, not here, put them up here", not offering her help. the bathroom was over small plus the shower tube was about to break, i had to ask for it to be changes...which it was. good tv and digital services !

Sidney Victoria
Good location, close to theatre. Nice and modern decor, though there was only a limited choice of breakfast. Plus rooms and en suites are tiny! Showers not suitable for larger individuals!

Sidney Hotel London Victoria - Suits Me!
This is the second time I have stayed at the Sidney Hotel, and I was quite satisfied with the facilities, helpful staff and its convenience to Victoria Station. Thank you to London Discount Hotel for offering discounts that make it possible for me to stay at a central London hotel.

cramped room 404
Overall Hotel clean. Staff professional helpfull. Double room exceedingly cramped (even as a single).Inadequate shower room space - basin poorly placed/poorly accessable. lack of storage space for bedcovers and cushions.Stupid chair. stupid fan (what for?). Space not up to health & safety standards for 2 people. Corridors narrow, dark, angled. At most AA 1*

Customer opinion
The room was really small, specially the bathroom. Breakfast time is very limited, only from 7.30 to 9. Good customer service at the front desk. Jose Tilves Pinero

Sydney Hotel Victoria - Not bad for a short stay!
The bathroom was kind of small, but, overall, I would rate the hotel as good for a short stay.

Sidney Hotel
Good budget accomodation. Very helpful and courteous staff. only hitch was we booked adjoining rooms with our friends but our room was not prepared and we had to be moved up a floor. The desk staff were not aware of the problem until we opened our door. No discount was offered (or sought ) for our inconvenience

10-11 March 2010
On first appearance the hotel looks pleasant, friendly and clean. Kept waiting 10 mins to checkin but not a major issue. Room tidy, modern but very small. Room walls not sound proof so a lot of disruption can be heard throughout the hotel level as squeaky floorboards! Dining room like bedrooms very compact so have to squeeze in if dining room full. Value for money not the rate that they advertise. However on plus side easy access to get around London

Sidney Hotel comments
Yoghurts and fresh fruit were missing at breakfast. Not all of us enjoy a fried breakfast. Rooms very clean. It is not necessary to change the bed sheets every day.

Home from home
Fair sized room for a London hotel, where space is normally at a premium. Room was very clean and tidy. Modern flat panel TVs provide terrestrial and basic satellite news channels. Staff always willing to help. Good for leisure or extended stays. Would use again ;-)
