Attraction Description

Visit Tower Bridge exhibition and take a trip to the newly refurbished Monument. Christopher Wren's tribute to the Great Fire of London, offers its own unique view across the City's skyline. Climb the stairs of the world's tallest free-standing monument, to the newly refurbished public viewing platform 160ft above the ground.
The year 1894 witnessed the birth of the Tower Bridge, one of the superior and most-talked-about bridges in the world. Built over the Thames River in London it houses the Tower Bridge Exhibition where one can obtain detailed information about the bridge (how or why the bridge was built, etc.). Visiting this Tower Bridge exhibition is one of the best things to do in London as one can enjoy magnificent views from the high-level walkways.
The walkways are endowed with special viewing windows that are not obstructed with glass and hence are perfect for taking photographs.
The Tower Bridge London also has the Victorian Engine rooms where the original steam engines are preserved beautifully until date. These engines were originally used to power the bridge lifts. The unhindered movement of the Tower Bridge over the years is explained wonderfully with the aid of hands-on mechanisms and information panels.

Please Note

Great views over the city and the thrill of being high up. The 311 steps up the spiral staircase is unavoidable if you want to get to the top of the Monument, so not for the feint hearted. Try and find out when the bridge is scheduled to open as I think that would be a mega plus if it were to coincide with your visit, from either the top or in the engine room.

Unmissable Experience ! 25/11/2014

Heard about this combined tour from a family member which is bargain-priced and easy to cover in an afternoon. Simple 15 min. walk between the attractions - skirting the Tower of London. The Monument to the Great Fire of 1666 has 331 steps up a spiral staircase to a magnificent view from a platform at the top. Tower bridge now has a short glass walkway section between the towers which isn't for the faint hearted ! Really enjoyed seeing the steam engine rooms which powered the bascules in victorian times. All have been restored and one is in motion.

The Tower Bridge exhibition was a hit with our family. It is easy to get to and although busy was easy to get around. You take a lift to the top where there is bridge information and a glass walkway over the actual bridge! Don't worry if the thought makes your stomach flip as you can walk on solid flooring. The films are brief and interesting. The Engine room is amazing with big bold beautiful machinery. We all enjoyed it and are happy to recommend it as a family outing. We bought a combined ticket that also allowed us to climb the monument too.

Great views from upper walkways and an interesting exhibition. Don't miss the Engine House exhibition either with it's huge working engine.

Fantastic views at a low cost 01/09/2013

The tower bridge experience was fantastic for the views out across the river and the information about the bridge and how it works, our 7 yr old daughter loved it but found the engine rooms boring (but it was lunchtime!) the gift shop was very reasonably priced and had souvenirs priced from 50p. (We got the lift to the top rather then the stairs much to my dismay!) The Monument was a trek to get up all those stairs but well worth it at the top, the view was breathtaking. I think it's best saved for a clear day as I can imagine the view would be massively reduced by cloud and smog. We spent over half an hour at the top taking pictures and playing I-spy of London landmarks, cars and people. We were each given a certificate when we got down to say we had climbed the 311 steps to the top. With the discounted tickets it made for a cheap and interesting visit. Over all: Great for views, hard on the legs, The Monument is not for anyone who is scared of heights!
