St Giles Heathrow Hotel: Not as close as you would think and no shuttle

This hotel is not in Heathrow, despite its title (it is in Fulton). Although the drive was only 15 minutes from the EU arrival terminal, the cab cost 40 pounds- and there was no shuttle service, or at least, it wasn't free. The description was a little deceptive, and even after emailing the hotel, I still expected arrangements to bring me from the airport to the hotel. I ended up having to arrange my own transportation to get there from the airport. It is near a bus route- no. 185- which I was able to take back to the airport. Wifi is 10 pounds- a total rip-off. Breakfast is half decent.

The maintainance of the room left something to be desired. One curtain was on the floor when we arrived. The remote for the TV was not the right one and the rasor socket didn't work.

the location is second to none and the cost via this website is good. the rooms were average but the food particularly the breakfast needs to be reviewed . i will book the room again but not the breakfast. Also the use of WIFI is expensive and the hotel lobby dose not offer discrete use of the internet as its very open.

Good stay

Arrived at around 22:00h. Our first impression was not the best since in spite of being the only guests at the front desk at that time we had to wait for over 5 minutes to be greeted as the only receptionist available picked up a call after saying hello and got carried away in the conversation delaying our check-in. Considering the importance of this process we thought it wasn´t handled in the best of manners. Having said this we were gladly surprised with other services received such as breakfast and concierge specially. A very helpful and professional young man went the extra mile to assist us with all sorts of information. Free wifi would be a determining plus.

Although very handy for Sunbury(course venue) The hotel itself seriously requires an upgrade. The rooms are very shabby and the carpets are dirty. The corridor outside my room was also very noisy. On the other hand, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I will certainly not being staying again!

Proud to be British

St Giles offers a very good all round accommodation. The breakfast was first class .... The best of everything - no cheap rubbish. Yes I was proud of what we are offering our foreign guests. The value and location is amazing. Close to Heathrow Airport the centre of London and Windsor Castle

Good hotel except reception staff.

Sadly you cannot avoid the staff at reception when using this hotel. When you are made to feel unwelcome it does affect the way you feel about the hotel. After checking in I was surprised to find a well appointed room with Air Con.

St Giles Hotel Feltham 15-17 October 2012

Used this hotel as I was working nearby. It is also very convenient for Heathrow and for central London via a direct rail link to Waterloo. Value for money was good, with a comfortable, clean room. I had a B&B; deal and had dinner at the hotel both nights. Food was no better than average but modestly priced. Bar drinks were quite expensive. Plenty of car parking and the nightly cost is average for the area. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Toe Nail Clippings

A very dirty room which i found had toe nail clippings all over the floor and had clearly not been hoovered between guests.

New Years Eve stay

Had a very relaxing time in the hotel, staff very polite and helpful, the evening meal was excellent for the money and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. The only minor thing in our room was the lack of towels but our friends who stayed on other floors had plenty.

Very enjoyable and satisfyingf stay again. And very efficient, as on the Thursday morning i was unable to lock my door. Within 5 minutes the maintenance manager was present and allowed me the option of leaving and ensured everything was safe.

Not the best

The room was very basic.. the remote control disapeared... No mini bar, no room service. As a woman on her own two things are luxury.. breakfast in bed and mini bar so you don't have to eat alone and site in bar on own... I wont be returning to St Giles Hotel.

A business hotel

I have stayed at the St Giles on previous occasions because it is convenient for one of my company's clients based in Hounslow. The fact that I return indicates my degree of satisfaction. The rooms are perfectly adequate for an overnight stay, and the bar and restaurant add a good atmosphere.

Good value and service

Although I and my son only stayed one night, we were both very satisfied with the accommodation and service. The rooms were clean, modern and well maintained. Also, when it seemed that some jewelry had been lost and could not be found in the room, the duty manager was extremely helpful and courteous, despite my insisting and believing that they 'must' be on the premises. The items were later found elsewhere, but I was very impressed by the manager's calm and professional approach at the time. The breakfast had been advertised as 'continental', but in the event there was a complete range of fruit and cooked foods available, with the fastest and most effective hotel toaster I have come across! Maybe we hit a lucky day/night (it was Christmas day), but this was good quality accommodation, worth recommending.

Great Place for budget accomodations

We were very pleased with this hotel and the service we received. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the inside is clean and updated. The staff was courtious and professional.... they also have a concierge on staff. Great location, just minutes from the train station.

Me and my son booked in ahead of the match at Twickenham. Fast check in even though we were early. Room very clean although a little concerend about the plastic bag tied round the smoke alarm. Pleasant and helpful staff. Train station very close and 5 mins from Twickenham. Son and his partner booked in again for next weekend.

Not Quite What We Expected

room adequate but basic -our room noisy in early morning (4.30 onwards ) with noise of trains despite special sound proof measures - staff pleasant and helpful - if you are having breakfast then either go very early or after 8.30 as bus tour residents all descend for breakfast at same time resulting in long wait for lifts and long queues for breakfast - in future I would check other hotels around if visiting area as not quite up to standard we expected

non smoking and smoking rooms

The hotel was fine although when we arrived there were only two smoking rooms left which we had to take being non smokers this was the only unpleasant part of the stay. when i booked through yourselves i don't think it stipulated non smoking and smoking preferences but i think this is something to think about in the future.
