Queen Anne's Orangery
The Kensington Palace London was originally known as the Nottingham House. In the year 1689, the palace passed into royal ownership as it was acquired by William and Mary. After the king started suffering from asthma, he moved from Whitehall Palace to the healthier air of Kensington.
The design for the improvement of the palace was done by Sir Christopher Wren who also designed the new Clock Court and the South Front, including the 96-foot Long Gallery. The Orangery for the Queen was again designed by Sir Christopher Wren. A 30-acre garden was also laid out by Henry Wise. Some extensive alterations were done for George I and William Kent painted the elaborate trompe l'oeil ceilings and staircases. George II was the last monarch to stay at Kensington Palace London.
The Serpentine, the Basin and Grand Vista and the Broad Walk were created by Charles Bridgman for Caroline of Ansbach. Princess of Wales, Lady Diana used to stay at the Kensington Palace Address while in London. Until now, several other members of the Royal Family use this Kensington Palace Address as home.
At the exhibition at Kensington Palace, the Court Dress Collection and the State Apartments in the palace are open to the public during their Kensington Palace Tour.

Enjoyable look at history 03/11/2014
My friend and I enjoyed the easily laid out tour of the Palace. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They had a great deal of knowledge about the Palace and history and were happy to share that with interested parties. I would recommend that people read the booklets in each room as they indicate the history and purpose of the room and if you have questions, ask. Really enjoyed seeing the lovely clothes exhibition - well planned and laid out. Thank you for a great visit.
