Attraction Description

The Tower of London was founded by William the Conqueror in 1066-7 and enlarged and modified by successive sovereigns. Today the Tower of London is one of the world's most famous and spectacular fortresses. It symbolizes nearly 1000 years of Britain’s royal history, is a home to the English Crown Jewels and the largest diamond in the world. Yeoman Warders, or Beefeaters, in the Tudor costumes, treat groups of sightseers to their own brand of guided tour, an entertaining mix of history and myth. Discover its 1000-year history as a royal palace and fortress, prison and place of execution, mint, arsenal, menagerie and jewel house.
