Warwick Castle was home to the Earls of Warwick until 1978 when it was purchased by The Tussauds Group and opened as a tourist attraction. It is protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade I listed building. The origins of Warwick Castle can be traced back to the Saxon fortification which Ethelfleda, daughter of Alfred the Great, used to defend against the defending Danes.
As you step into the castle, you will experience traveling back to the ages of banquets, battles and ceremony. However, if you want take a break from the past, take a leisurely stroll to the Castle's sprawling garden amidst calm and serene set up. In the summer period, various events are organized including archery, falconry and jousting.
Kids can let steam off in the fortress like environment of the Pageants Playground with its' ropes, ramps, spiral slides, high level walkways and rock climbing fences (open subject to weather conditions).
Little Princesses will be thrilled by The Princess Tower, home to Warwick Castle’s very own fairy-tale princess, Princess Arabella.
