Needs updating. 27/10/2013
we stayed in the club rooms, and all we got offered in the club lounge, was tea or coffee. nothing else. the drinks only available between 6.30 to 8pm. the rooms were in desperate need of updating.breakfast was lovely, apart from asking 3 times for coffee, and was given tea from the coffee pot.

Weekend break
First impression of the outside of the hotel was that it looked a huge monstrosity & quite different to the picture on the website! However, inside was totally different. Everywhere was clean and of a high standard. The staff were exceptionally helpful. The room was very spacious with lots of storage areas. Was a bit concerned initially that the room overlooked the railyway lines but the double (or was it treble) glazing kept all the noise out and we didn't hear anything. The breakfast room always had plenty of free tables (have stayed at another London hotel where we had to wait for a free table!), and there was an excellent choice on the continental breakfast bar. Thought the extra £3 for a full English breakfast was very good value. Very handy for the tube (literally round the corner - but get directions as we walked too far on our arrival!) Also found it useful to park at Shepherd's Bush in NCP car park (£13 for 24 hours) as the tube station was opposite - and 2 short tube journeys to get to Kensignton High Street where the hotel is. Excellent shops close by including a very large M&S. We will definitely be using this hotel again.

Nice room and good location, but a little warm
Had some difficulty finding the hotel because the online map was completely wrong. The room was nice, the breakfast was good. The concierge could have been a little more helpful, but the location right next to the High Street Kensington station was great and the shops near by were wonderful. The room was a nice size. The temaperature in the hotel was too warm in the rooms and the halls. It was perfect for the short little girls's shopping weekend we had planned and I would go back there again.

Good value accommodation
Good value accommodation for London. Rooms are not overly large. Ordered breakfast in room, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food.

AVOID at all cost
What looked like MFI self assembly furniture in the rooms (really stressed and threadbare). Formica clad bathroom with mildew on the ceiling. Filthy windows which didn't look like they'd been washed in years. Right above High Street Kensinton Tube Station so no restful sleep once the trains start running (and we were on the 10th floor, I can't imagine how bad it must have been nearer the ground - Soundproof double glazing indeed!). No ceiling to floor length curtains (1/2 length only) so no chance to really shut out the light and the noise for that extra restful sleep. AVOID at all cost

Not a 4* experience
Booked a 4* hotel in Kensington and expected something nice but was disappoined! The hotel is nice but our standard room left much to be desired. The black out curtains were not big enough for the window and blacked nothing out! The air conditioner made a constant and irritating noise on or off. Paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling off, it was also mouldy, I found the previous guest's hair in the bathroom and bedroom. Breakfast was included in the rate but could not be had in the room and we were not informed of this by the unwelcoming reception staff, when we went to the breakfast room it was so busy and there was no where to sit. Television is dated and there was very few channels to choose from. The smoke detector flashed a red light rather than a green light to show it was working correctly. Not a 4* experience!
